“The team is the backbone of Simply Wrought Iron. Each person being a vital piece of the puzzle to make everything work and flow. If one piece of the puzzle is missing, it doesn’t work. It’s taken a while to get the right mix, but I have an amazing team now, and without them all we wouldn’t be where we are today.”

Our Team

As we have progressed into the commercial sector, we are now members of Site Safe and all staff have been trained and certified for the various requirements needed, not only for the commercial sector but for our general day-to-day duties also. Along with our health and safety policies and requirements, each team member once again is a vital part of keeping themselves and their fellow workers in a safe working environment.

Brian.jpg

Brian Wright

Brian started with the company early 2018 as a general fabricator/welder/installer, but is now running our installation team. He is also having to travel some distances from Wanganui to carry out these installations as word of mouth sees us getting work further afield. Brian is also a very competent fabricator, welder, builder, concreter and landscaper. He along with everyone is another asset to the company and another vital piece of the jigsaw. In the time Brian has been with us, we have, over various projects, managed to put all of his variety of expertise in different areas to use.

Lance.jpg

Lance Steadman

Lance started with the company in 2015 and is, as with everyone, a vital part of our team. His main role, among others, is preparation of components. Whether it be cutting, drilling, punching, bending or folding, Lance makes the rest of the journey flow seamlessly. He is very particular with what he does, and he does it well. As his work is the first stage of the process, if it’s not right, then the end product won’t be either.

Kaleb.jpg

Kaleb Toohey

Kaleb joined us in 2020 and has thrived ever since. Kaleb was initially one of our main welders and a very good young welder at that! But his experience has since expanded and he is progressing very well into fabrication as well. So, he is now playing the next couple of key components to the jigsaw, helping it all flow.

Shane.jpg

Shane Knox

Shane came on board as a casual labourer in 2019, he is now the second major part of our installation crew, which is a big piece of our puzzle. Shane has also developed other skills while being with us. One of those showing through is his blacksmithing, possibly due to earlier generations of his family doing the same thing. His fabrication and welding skills have also shown through in the time he’s been with us.
